Graphic Design: Final Major Project
MAKEUP RESEARCH
I was looking for way to expand my range and makeup links quite nicely to a pharmacy and love. Previously I had only researched makeup from a creative perspective so I found it very interesting to go to completely the other end of the scale to the scientific side. I also found that it wasn't makeup that linked directly yo attraction but more there were thing that humans find attractive and makeup can be used to enhance that aspect (more info in my sketchbook). I settled on highlight fro glowing skin, white eyeliner, eyebrow pencil and lipstick. I think this gives a range around the face and won't be boring.
I don't have the skills or time to actually make the makeup so I bought what I needed and re-purposed the packaging. I used the same nail polish for this as I did with the bottle caps to keep the continuity. I was happy with how the colour came out and it was successful with the white but practically couldn't get the lids back on the pencils because of the extra layers. I think this is alright with the pay off of the colour and the individual packages they are in means it wouldn't be unhygienic.
For the packaging I followed a similar template to the medicine but only a heart on the front because of the range of sizes. A description of what the product is and does is on the back and there will be a label in the actual piece but I don't think its obvious what the products are so I'm going to make posters to go alongside.
